Products

Every part of Helipod, what it is for and how the parts fit together.

Everything in Helipod lives inside a project. The dashboard sidebar groups a project's features the same way this page does: compute, monitoring, data, services and settings.

Projects and environments

A project groups everything that belongs to one app or one customer: its containers, servers, databases, email, domains and team.

  • Environments (for example production and staging) keep separate copies of your services inside a project, each with its own variables, domains and database branch. Change staging without touching production.
  • Team members are invited per project, so a freelancer or client only sees the project you share with them.
  • Billing comes from one prepaid wallet in Rupiah, topped up from the dashboard. See Billing.

Containers

Containers are the easiest way to run an app on Helipod: you bring the code, Helipod builds it, runs it and puts it online with HTTPS. You don't manage a server.

A service is one running app: a website, an API, a background worker or a database. You create it from:

  • a Git repository (GitHub, GitLab or any public HTTPS Git host), optionally from a sub folder of a monorepo,
  • a container image from Docker Hub, GitHub Container Registry or a private registry,
  • a Dockerfile you write inline,
  • a template from the gallery, which can create several connected services at once (for example WordPress with MySQL).

Each service gets:

  • Domains: a free name.helipod.app HTTPS address per public port, your own domains with automatic certificates, and TCP ports for things like databases.
  • Private networking: services in the same environment reach each other by name, without going over the internet.
  • Variables: plain and secret values injected when the service starts. Reference another service's value, for example ${{Postgres.DATABASE_URL}}, so a password lives in one place.
  • Volumes: storage that survives restarts and redeploys, mounted at a path.
  • Scale: choose CPU, memory and the number of replicas, or turn on autoscaling.
  • Deploys: build logs, health checks, automatic restarts, and start order (a service can wait for its database).

Services are billed daily by their size. Automate them with the Container API.

Templates

The Templates gallery has ready-made apps (CMSs, databases, tools) that you deploy in one click. A template asks only for the values it needs, generates passwords and secrets for you, and wires the services together.

VPS

A VPS is a virtual server with full root access, for when you want to install and control everything yourself.

  • Plans and regions: pick a size (CPU, RAM, disk, traffic) and a region. Plans are prepaid for a period and can be renewed or upgraded to a larger plan.
  • Operating systems: Ubuntu and Debian. Reinstall at any time with a new OS or password.
  • Access: SSH with a root password or your SSH keys, and a web terminal in the dashboard.
  • Networking: a firewall you control. Depending on the plan, a server has its own public IP or a range of ports on a shared IP. On a shared IP you can route your domains to the server's HTTP and HTTPS ports.
  • Snapshots and backups: take a snapshot before a risky change, and schedule automatic backups.
  • Metrics: CPU, memory, disk and bandwidth use.

Automate servers with the VPS API.

Monitoring

  • Logs: the output of every service in the project in one place, filtered by time range.
  • Observability: CPU, memory, network and billing charts. Arrange them into your own dashboard.

Databases

Database is managed PostgreSQL for your project. Helipod runs and maintains it; you get a connection string.

  • Serverless: compute scales up under load and down to zero when idle, so an idle database costs nothing. Every project can start on a free database.
  • Branches: each environment gets its own branch, a full copy of the data at the moment it was made, with its own connection string. Test a migration on staging with real data.
  • Console: browse tables, edit rows, create tables and run SQL in the dashboard.
  • Plans: paid plans are prepaid compute credits from your wallet. They don't expire.

Automate it with the Database API.

Cache

Cache is a managed Redis instance for caching, sessions, queues and rate limits. Create one, then copy its connection details into your app.

Object storage

Connect an S3-compatible bucket under Integrations, then upload, browse and manage files from Object Storage in the dashboard.

Email

Send email from your own domain, and receive it.

  • Sending domains: add a domain and its DNS records to prove you own it, so mail lands in the inbox, not spam.
  • Transactional email: send one message or a batch from your app, with templates and variables.
  • Bulk email: contacts, segments, topics (for unsubscribes) and broadcasts.
  • Tracking: delivery logs, opens, clicks, bounces and complaints, plus webhooks to your app.
  • Receiving: mailboxes on your domain that you read in the Helipod webmail, forward, or handle in your app.
  • SMTP: connect apps that can only send by SMTP.

Helipod protects your sending reputation: if a project keeps sending to addresses that bounce, its sending is paused for a few hours and you are told why. Automate it with the Email API.

AI Gateway

One API key for many open models (DeepSeek, GLM, Kimi, MiniMax and more), with OpenAI-compatible and Anthropic-compatible endpoints. The official SDKs, Claude Code and other coding tools work by changing the base URL. Requests are paid per token, in Rupiah, from an AI balance that you top up from your wallet. Create keys, top up and follow usage under AI Gateway in a project, or read usage and top up from code with the Management API. See the AI Gateway.

Domains

Search, register, transfer and renew domains, including .id, .my.id, .biz.id, .web.id and other extensions.

  • DNS: manage records (A, CNAME, MX, TXT and more) to point the domain at your containers, VPS or email.
  • Nameservers: use Helipod's or your own, and create child nameservers.
  • WHOIS privacy hides your personal details where the extension allows it.

Prices include VAT. Owner (registrant) details are needed once, before your first registration. Automate it with the Domain API.

Integrations

Connect accounts you already have with other services (databases, email, cache and object storage) to a project, and use them from the dashboard next to Helipod's own products.

Support tickets

Open a ticket from a project to reach the Helipod team. The conversation stays in the dashboard, tied to the project, so you don't have to explain your setup again. Tickets, invoices, monthly statements and notifications are also available from the Account API.

Settings and API keys

Under Settings you rename the project, manage team members and create API keys. One Helipod API key can be allowed to use the Container, VPS, Database, Domain, Email, AI and Account APIs, for one project or the whole account. AI tools like Claude Code can also sign in directly through the MCP server. See API keys.
