opencode
Add the Helipod MCP server and skills to opencode, and run opencode on Helipod AI models.
Tested with opencode 1.19: sign-in, local and hosted server, key passed from the environment, skills, and real tool calls on both a free opencode model and a Helipod AI Gateway model.
Requirements
- opencode, Node.js 18 or newer for the local server.
HELIPOD_API_KEYin your environment, see Get a key.
Add the server
Edit ~/.config/opencode/opencode.json (all projects) or opencode.json in a project:
{
"$schema": "https://opencode.ai/config.json",
"mcp": {
"helipod": { "type": "remote", "url": "https://api.helipod.io/mcp" }
}
}Then sign in:
opencode mcp auth helipodSign in to Helipod in the browser, choose the products and reach, and Allow. opencode mcp list then shows ✓ helipod connected.
Add the skills
npx skills add helipodapp/mcp -g -a opencodeCheck it works
opencode mcp listshows✓ helipod connected.opencode run "List my Helipod projects"callshelipod_list_projects(opencode prefixes tools with the server name).
Run opencode on Helipod AI models
Add the Helipod AI Gateway as a provider and pick its models with /models. See Coding tools → opencode.
Troubleshooting
HELIPOD_API_KEY is not set in the terminal opencode was started from, or the environment block is missing.
Run npx -y helipod-mcp --version. If it works, restart opencode; the first run downloads the package.
