Windsurf

This setup follows Windsurf's MCP configuration format.

RequirementsCopy Anchor Link

• Windsurf, Node.js 18 or newer for the local server.
• A Helipod API key, see Get a key.

Open Windsurf Settings → Cascade → MCP Servers → Manage / View raw config, or edit ~/.codeium/windsurf/mcp_config.json directly:

The key is written in this file: keep it out of shared folders and backups you do not control, and use a project-limited key. After saving, press Refresh in the MCP panel.

NotesCopy Anchor Link

• Windsurf caps the total number of MCP tools Cascade can use. Helipod has 70; if you use other servers too, turn off Helipod tools you do not need in the MCP panel.
• Keep Cascade asking before tool calls when the key can spend money.
